Waterford Endodontics was established in the heart of Waterford City in 2000 by Dr. Mary Egan. In recent years she has been joined by Dr Cormac Cullinane and Dr Katie Doody.
At our clinic we aim to create a relaxing, comfortable and caring environment for our patients. Our dedicated Endodontists will advise you of your treatment options, talk you through your plan and explain what the treatment involves.
Along with that all our administration and clinical team are personally dedicated to providing their best possible service during your time with us. I had a root canal performed by Dr. Mary Egan. I am a very nervous patient wrt dentists. Mary was very kind and patient and ensured I knew what was happening at all times. An absolute lady 😊Rachel on reception was also very helpful and friendly and also ensured I felt at ease.

I had my first visit to Waterford Endodontics today (my son has been there a few times and has always been very well looked after). From Rachel on reception, to the Dental Nurse to Dr Cullinane, it was a great experience. He explained everything to me in detail and when he was doing the root canal, it was all very calm and relaxed and it was over before I knew it!
I attended Mary Egan on two visits for root canal and other treatment. I was so nervous but Mary made me feel relaxed, she is an absolute lady and so kind, she was very gentle and I was very happy with the work she carried out. Excellent service and would highly recommend.

Who thought a root canal treatment could be a pleasant experience?? From the moment I arrived and was greeted at reception through the treatment by Dr. Cullinane, it was like no other trip to the dentist. The procedure was explained in detail and there was no pain or discomfort. As Rachel said on my way out “it’s just like a long filling”.

I attended Dr Katie Doody at Waterford Endodontics twice recently for root canal treatment. To say I am a nervous dental patient is an understatement but everything about this referral was just perfect. Rachel at reception was good humoured, smiling and efficient. Moved on to the waiting room without any delay. Nice magazine's to distract me, drinking water and a lovely relaxed seating area. Restroom spotlessly clean. The treatment commenced on time on both occasions, everything was explained throughout the procedure. Dr Katie was very understanding and put me completely at ease. The dental nurse assistant, Lorraine, I think that was her name was also welcoming and chatty and during the procedure I was very impressed at how Dr and nurse worked in unison. Definitely I felt I was a very lucky lady to have been referred by my dentist in Midleton, Co. Cork. to these experts. Many thanks to team Waterford Endodontics.

I attended for 2 root and canal treatments. On my 4 visits each appointment took place on time every time. Everything was well explained and only took the amount of time that I was told it was going to take.All staff were professional, polite and easy to deal with.
What a fantastic practice. Everyone from Rachel in reception to Alison and Mary in the Endodontics chair provided great customer service. Everyone was very welcoming. Dr .Katie is fantastic. I am a very nervous patient and she was brilliant , reassuring me and explained everything as we were going through it . The whole experience was pain free (root canal ) and vey relaxed . The receptionist and dental nurse were also very friendly and helped put me at ease . Highly recommend the practice

Dr Neil Birmingham , Well exceed my expectations with his extraordinary professionalism. We all hear with root canal will have loads of pains , i was nervous at first but during the treatment I don’t feel pain or any uncomfortable (nearly doze off a couple of times during the treatment )at the end of the treatment Dr Birmingham advice me to take pain killer for 3-5days for the tension, I take NONE painkiller because I feel no pain ! I was overwhelmed ! I went away for two weeks trip in between my second treatment and enjoyed a lot of food during the trips and my tooth with the temporary filling never bother me at all! I had my second treatment today (was actually not afraid or nervous anymore!) during the treatment I felt exactly the same like the first treatment (nearly doze off a couple of time 😆) again, Dr Birmingham advice me for pain killer if I feel any tension, But Hey! After 8 hrs now and I believe the anesthetic is all gone now and I don’t feel any pain or uncomfortable.Dr Neil Birmingham u are just toooo Good !!!! Thank u very much ! Highly recommended!Also the lovely beautiful receptionist Rachel with warm smiley face and dental nurse making this whole process and experience even more better ! Thank u all ❤️

Recently had a root canal treatment done at Waterford Endodontics with Dr. Mary Egan, a really fantastic service all round. Firstly, the receptionist is very friendly and welcomes you right away, I wasnt waiting long at all. I had two appointments in total with time apart, on both occasions I was in the excellent hands of Dr. Mary Egan, I was very nervous as I heard some people say root canal is painful, but I felt really comfortable right away. Mary talks to you all the way through explaining in great detail what is happening and what each step is for. The procedure room was bright and relaxing. Mary is an absolute profession, zero pain or discomfort, nothing at all! I felt like I went asleep a few times, both dental nurses I met on each appointment were friendly and professional, I would have no problem returning if I needed to. I would highly recommend Waterford Endodontics. A really great service and very professional, some really nice conversations during both visits, best experience I have had at a dental practice.

I highly recommend this wonderful clinic. I entered it very apprehensive and afraid of the procedure (root canal) that l was to have. I was put at ease the moment l walked in, when l met the friendly receptionist. Dr. Katie explained each step of the procedure calmly, she was gentle and professional assisted by her wonderful dental nurse, Lorraine. Absolutely brilliant. Talked me through everything and didn't stop until she was happy with everything. It's the most comfortable I've felt in a dentist.
I was recently treated by Dr. Cormac Cullinane, for a root canal. I was absolutely dreading the procedure.However my apprehension & anxiety were short lived by his professionalism and gentle approach. He kept me well informed every step of the way which instilled a great sense of confidence in his abilities and I felt very at ease and relaxed. I had zero pain after both procedures which came as a very welcome surprise. I would strongly recommend Dr. Cullinane to anybody who needs similar dental work.

I was suffering with a horrendous toothache and was referred to Waterford Endodontics for root canal treatment. The receptionist was extremely helpful when booking me in and I wasn't waiting a long time for my appointment. The treatment was painless and my toothache was completely gone. I was referred to this lovely team by my dentist, and I must say it was one of the most pleasant experiences for what I thought would be a nerve-racking procedure. They were very kind and helpful, explaining what the procedure involved and why in simple terms. They made sure I felt comfortable , even with my anxieties, and the procedure was largely painless. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them if I needed more work done in the future.
I needed emergency root canal treatment for agonising pain for weeks avoiding it due to fear of attending dentists. Within 24hrs of calling I was having treatment done, I was immediately out of pain after the first appointment, as well as the procedure itself being painless. Dr. Egan and all the team involved are fantastic I felt so relaxed and reassured throughout both appointments. Can not recommend them enough to anyone, very grateful thank you so much.
Was referred to the clinic today after being in extreme pain for several days. The team were really friendly and professional. Mary was absolutely superb & for the first time in days I am able to relax without being in pain. Money very well spent & I’d highly recommend the clinic to anybody else.
