No. Modern techniques and local anaesthesia are used throughout the procedure, and every possible step is taken to ensure that you are comfortable while the work is being carried out. Root canal procedures are performed to relieve the pain of toothache caused by pulp inflammation or infection. On very rare occasions some teeth may be particularly sensitive however, a number of techniques are available to enable them to be treated pain free.
Yes. You will be perfectly fine to drive following your treatment.
No. If you are receiving oral sedation for your treatment you will have to have a nominated person to collect you from your appointment. The nominated person must to come into the clinic to collect you.
Most people are perfectly fine to return to work after their treatment.
No. Specialist endodontic treatment is not covered by the medical card scheme.
It will vary depending on the tooth being treated but you can expect to be in the practice for an hour to an hour and half. Please allow time on your parking ticket for this.
There is ‘on street’ parking directly outside the practice which can be paid for by a ticket machine.
Alternatively parking is available in Merchants Quay Car park opposite Treacy’s Hotel. You can pay for your ticket using

We accept payment by card, cash and cheque.
Our policy is that all treatment must be paid for on the day of your appointment.
However we can, accept payment by instalment prior to your treatment if you wish to do so. Please give us a call if you would like to discuss this option with us.
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us at 051-857989 between 08.30–17.00. If the phone is unattended necessary, please leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible.
When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please call reception as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.
If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 24 hours notice in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
Please understand that appointment times are limited. If you must cancel your appointment, we respectfully request 24 hours notice. Missed appointments, or appointments cancelled without 24 hour notice, will incur a fee of 100 euro.
